"This fun little car starts right up with a well-running engine. It's easy to drive, has good brakes and a smooth gearshift, and is inspected until March 31, 2025. Plus, there’s no road tax. Just turn the key and drive it home."

Description

This car was sold new by Albinssons Opel dealer in Ljungby and comes with a fully stamped service book up until 46,232 km in 1986. After that, there is no detailed ownership history, but inspection reports show it had driven 71,076 km in 1996 and 93,517 km in 2013. The car has been owned by the same family since 2015 and has only been used as a summer car, never driven in winter. It's remarkable how well it has been preserved, free from major rust, suggesting it was properly garaged and seldom driven in winter. This true survivor can be used and enjoyed as is for many more years.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

Runs and drives well with no issues or remarks. Simple to repair and maintain, this car is ready to drive home. Good wheels and tires.

  • Interior condition

Interior is completely original and in tidy condition. The seats are nice, with some wear on the driver's seat bolster, and the carpets and rubber mats are in good shape. The headliner has a few marks, and the dashboard is undamaged but has a few plastic cracks on some gauges. The boot space is clean and well-maintained.

  • Exterior condition

Bodywork is remarkably solid and straight for a 1980s Opel. There is a small dent on the driver's front wing and a surface rust spot on the sills and under the front and rear bumpers, but no holes. The underbody is clean and solid with a few surface rust spots mainly from jacking marks on the sill edges. The paintwork is fine but slightly dull, with a few scratches and some repainting on both side edges of the rear wings (see pictures). It would look great with a good polish.

  • General condition

Now, this rare 1980s car is affordable to buy and own, making it an ideal first step into the classic car world without breaking your bank account.
