Description

This car appears to have been registered in Virginia between 1991 and 1995, and then in Florida until the end of 2003, when it was imported to Sweden and registered for road use on March 29, 2004. The current owner acquired the car in December 2024. The mileage is unknown and cannot be verified—this was already noted during its time in Florida (see U.S. documentation). The current owner has had the automatic transmission rebuilt. Inspected on February 5, 2025. Roadworthy and ready to drive.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Starts easily and ran well in both engine and drivetrain. During a short test drive, everything appeared to function properly. Nice engine sound, good steering, comfortable ride, and effective brakes.

Not inspected on a lift, but the vital components looked good, and there were no remarks from the vehicle inspection authority.

  • Interior condition:

Appears to be in original condition. Good overall shape with normal wear for its age. Both the seats, door panels, and carpets have held up well. Steering wheel, controls, dashboard, and gauges are in good condition. The odometer is not readable. Otherwise, everything seems to be functioning, although the air conditioning is unverified and should be checked. The storage area behind the seats is in good condition.

  • Exterior condition:

Appears to be in original condition. Good overall shape with normal age-related wear. Glass, emblems, lighting components, and other exterior details are all in similarly good condition. The soft top is in good shape, though the plastic rear window is damaged. The convertible mechanism operates smoothly. Pop-up headlights function as they should. Wheels and tires are in good condition with some light wear. The engine bay is tidy and well-preserved considering the car’s age.

  • General condition:

This car is in good, usable condition—there are some details that could use attention, but it’s a solid, road-ready convertible that’s prepared for summer adventures. The Corvette C4 generation is gaining a growing fanbase and stands out as a bold and stylish classic and enthusiast’s car.

Facts about the model

The Chevrolet Corvette was launched in 1953 as America's answer to the European sports car. Production began in Flint, Michigan, but from the 1984 model year onward, Corvettes have been built in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The C4 generation debuted with the 1984 model year, making it the first to be produced at the new factory. It’s worth noting that the previous generation, the C3, was built from model year 1968 through 1982—meaning there are no Corvettes from the 1983 model year. The new C4 was a complete redesign featuring the Y-body platform, with a strong focus on improving handling and driving dynamics.

Two body styles were offered, both with two doors: a coupé with a Targa top and fastback-style rear hatch for improved cargo access, and a convertible. For the 1991 model year, the C4 received major updates while remaining within the same generation, including a new front end, side moldings, wheels, and side panels.

Engines were all V8s—350 cu.in. or 5.7 liters—producing between 205 and 405 horsepower depending on the year and version. A notable upgrade was the introduction of the Tuned Port Injection (TPI) system in 1985, which boosted output by 40 hp. Transmissions were either manual or automatic.

The C4 generation was succeeded by the C5 in the 1997 model year. In total, 358,180 C4 Corvettes were produced.
