"Great potential, a red PV Sport is something that many people are looking for, and there are not many early ones from the first generation around."

Description

The car was delivered to Bil & Truck in Gothenburg on October 24, 1960, and was later sold in November to the first owner, who remained the sole user throughout the years. He drove it normally for many years and eventually began a restoration, likely in the 1980s. There is excellent documentation available, including the initial inspection reports and the most recent one from 1991. The owner passed away in the early 1990s, and the car remained in the garage until the son of the current owner purchased it from the widow's estate in 2014. The ambition was high, but the project came to a halt, and the current owner took over to complete the restoration. However, he too became overwhelmed with other projects. Now the question is, who will take the baton and finish the restoration of a red early PV 544 C Sport, possibly the oldest one in the country?

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The car starts easily when it has been running and warmed up, but it can be a bit difficult to start when cold and after sitting for a while. The ignition switch has been supplemented with a start button. The clutch engagement can be a bit abrupt in certain positions, making it a bit tricky to maneuver the car at times. This is likely an adjustment issue or possibly a clutch replacement. The brakes feel good after being inspected and serviced.

  • Interior condition:

The interior is in good and clean condition, showing signs of aging in a tasteful manner. The original floor mats have been preserved. It's worth noting that the instrument cluster's color is intact, with no brass showing through.

  • Exterior condition:

The paint is in good condition, but some of the trim strips and similar parts have been overpainted. New trim strips are included with the car. The front and left rear fenders are made of plastic, while the right rear fender is in good condition. The car still has its original red wheels, as well as all the important and hard-to-find emblems, which are stored in a box. However, keys are missing for the door locks and trunk.

  • General condition:

A value-for-money project in good condition with historical significance, a previous owner who used the car regularly, and worth completing.
