Description
Now, 46 years later, with ten owners and over 340 000 km on the odometer, it shows signs of wear and requires some care. However, it has been inspected and is roadworthy, though it should be viewed as a rolling project. Recently, it has received a new battery. The car comes with an instruction manual and some information that has remained with it throughout the years.

Condition
-
Mechanical condition
The car runs and feels okay, but both a overhaul, adjustments and service is needed. The age and mileage is noticeable, but it definitely has great potential. Underside has not been properly checked.
-
Interior condition
The interior is original and has all the characteristic attributes of a 262 C. The headliner is nice, the seats are good but with some wear. The door panels and carpets are also worn. A review and reconditioning will do wonders. The sound system is not working, and the AC needs a review. Otherwise, most things seem to work. It's fun that early mobile phones are still present and included.
-
Exterior condition
The paint job, most likely original in large parts, is worn and damaged. In addition to stone chips, scratches, and small dents, wheel arches and kick panels have been repaired, and a new inspection is needed. There are also rust bubbles and damage around the roof edges where it meets the body. Under the vinyl roof, which is slightly bulging and worn, there may be a need for repairs. The engine and luggage compartments are in decent condition. The rims are not original, but the tires are okay.

Facts about the model
In 1977, Volvo presented a collaboration with the design company Carrozzeria Bertone in Italy, the Volvo 262 Coupé. It was based on the 264 model but featured two doors and a lowered roof, originally a design proposal by Jan Vilsgaard. The model was produced from 1978 to 1981, with a total of 6,622 units built. In the first years, it was only available in silver with black vinyl on the roof, but from the 1979 model year onwards, it came in gold metallic without the vinyl. The following year, the original silver and vinyl combination was discontinued, and instead, black and light blue metallic options were introduced. In the final year, a two-tone version in gold and nougat was also available. The interior was luxurious by the standards of its time. It featured an abundance of leather on the door panels (wrinkled), seats (elegantly patterned), pillars, roof, steering wheel, and center console, among others. Most of the moving parts were electrically operated, and thick, high-quality carpeting reduced noise and provided a luxurious and cozy atmosphere. Even the trunk, and even the tool bag, were made of thick and sumptuous materials. The model became a classic already during its production period.
