"This Volvo 142 is running and driving smoothly, with limited usage in recent years. To ensure optimal performance, I recommend a simple service that includes checking the valve/tappet clearance for proper adjustment. This is purely a precautionary measure, as there are no major issues that require immediate attention."

Description

The father bought the car in 1982 from an elderly couple and drove it as the family car; according to the family, it was only his second car he owned during his lifetime. When he died 1994, his wife inherited the car. She became the owner 1995 in tre register. Under this time she had the car in the garrage. In 2010 the daughter took over the car. The car has been well cared for, serviced, and inspected, but it has only been driven about 300 kilometers in the last 13 years, which is why it is being sold.

The car received rust protection early in its life, which greatly saved the car; it has some blisters along the bottom edges of the bodywork and some welding repairs in the boot and wheel well "see pictures"

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

The car starts easily and runs well, with good brakes and simple gear shifts. As previously stated, it only need a basic service and value adjustment check, and the rocker cover gasket may need to be replaced. Exempt from inspection/MOT and ready to drive home. Good wheels and tires.

  • Interior condition

The Volvo 142 boasts a remarkably well-preserved, all-original interior in great condition. The interior features nice carpets, headliner, door cards, dashboard, and fully functional instrumentation. The driver's seat offers the added comfort of adjustable lumbar support. While there is a loose drive cushion and a small hole in the vinyl, detailed pictures are available for reference. Rear seat belts fitted.

  • Exterior condition

Straight bodywork with clean paintwork, showcasing its overall well-maintained condition. While a few scratches are present, the main focus is on the blisters found on the lower bodywork edges. Detailed pictures are available to provide a visual representation of these issues. However, it is important to note that addressing these blisters is relatively straightforward, and there is no immediate urgency. Additionally, the underbody of the car is clean and tidy.

  • General condition

Popular Volvo 142 with good history, easy maintenance, and affordable ownership. Cosmetic issues can be addressed gradually, no urgent repairs needed.
