"A well-executed restoration from around 25 years ago that has held up nicely and is still in excellent condition."

Description

The car was purchased by the current owner's father, who was a skilled mechanic and had a small collection of cars and motorcycles. It underwent a thorough restoration and repainting in the late 1990s and has been sparingly used during the summer months since then. As the car is not being used enough, the owner wishes to sell it so that an enthusiast can enjoy it. The original instruction manual is included.

Facts about the model

The Volkswagen Type 1 retained its basic shape, but there were updates and improvements introduced practically every year. In 1959, it was the last year for the semaphores (turn signals) located on the B-pillar. New features included an anti-roll bar and a reinforced clutch. The previous year saw the introduction of a regular gas pedal instead of a roller accelerator, and a major update was the addition of a larger rear window. However, it would take another two years before a fully synchronized gearbox and an increased power output of 34 horsepower (compared to 30 horsepower) were introduced.
