"It honks and blinks just as it should. Kawasaki was considered a slightly smaller and simpler motorcycle "over there," but it is perceived as bold and robust on this side of the Atlantic. Here we have a nice, ready-to-ride condition and an interesting collector's item."

Description

This motorcycle was manufactured in June 2002. In October 2003, it was registered with the State of California and served with the City of Hemet Police, southeast of Los Angeles. Twenty years later, it was imported to Sweden by an enthusiast and motorcycle mechanic, purchased from Gov Deals Surplus as a former service vehicle. The motorcycle underwent servicing, including oil and filter changes, as well as some updates for optimal functionality. It received a new chain, fuel system inspection, and a new battery. It was also upgraded with a new windshield and a reupholstered seat. The license plate bracket was replaced with HD patrol lights, and the signal equipment was equipped with new Welen lights, along with new original decals. Today, it functions well, and most of the "police functions" are intact. However, the communication equipment has been partially removed.

Facts about the model

Kawasaki has a history dating back as far as 1896 and is considered today as one of the four major Japanese motorcycle manufacturers, albeit the smallest among Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki.

For many enthusiasts, their first encounter with Kawasaki was during the late 60s and early 70s when the three-cylinder two-stroke H1 with 500 cc and 60 horsepower came onto the scene. One would gaze in awe at the three cylinders, two exhaust pipes on one side, and one on the other, and the additional name Mach III was quite impressive. The road racing version, H1-R, left its mark on the racing results of that time. Later, the H2 and Mach IV with 750 cc and 74 horsepower were introduced.

Eventually, Kawasaki also developed versions for law enforcement purposes, including to compete with Harley Davidson in the United States. The most common model was the KZ1000P, known as KZP, which was produced from 1982 to 2005.
