Description
Our qualified guess is that this 256A may well have spent much of its life stored in military mobilization depots. It does not appear to have covered many miles on gravel roads, as the condition is exceptional. Alternatively, it may have been restored and repainted at some point. As the motorcycle is being sold on behalf of an estate, unfortunately no further information regarding its history is available.
The motorcycle has been stored in the owner’s living room for many years and has not been ridden during that time.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
As the motorcycle could not be started at the time of inspection, it has been difficult to assess its mechanical functions. The bike has seen very little, if any, use in recent years. All original details appear to be present, including the blackout light, lighting equipment, number plates, and more.
-
Exterior condition
Only a few minor scratches can be seen, but nothing more significant. The included skis appear never to have been mounted. As far as we can determine, the tool kit also appears to be complete.
-
General condition
An incredibly impressive overall presentation and exactly the right kind of example of this model to buy.

Facts about the model
The military-adapted 256A was equipped with features such as reinforced suspension, additional storage options, and a strengthened construction designed to withstand heavy use over extended periods. Its lightweight and agile design made it well suited for patrol duties, transport tasks, and rapid movement in hard-to-reach areas.
The model was powered by a strong two-stroke engine that provided good acceleration and solid field performance. Emphasis was also placed on durability and rider comfort through ergonomic design and components adapted for varying weather conditions and terrain types.
The Husqvarna 256A was used by the armed forces of several countries and was appreciated for its reliability and flexibility in military operations. According to unconfirmed reports, the Swedish Armed Forces ordered approximately 1,000 units in the late 1960s.
