Description
It was later bought by the current owner in 2017, who skillfully carried out the welding work and restored the components that required attention. The car was then sent away for paintwork, after which it was reassembled, inspected, and made roadworthy once again. Since then, it has been used very sparingly during the summer months.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
It runs beautifully and functions without issue. The gears engage smoothly, and the brakes operate well without pulling to either side.
-
Interior condition
Original interior with a fine patina, including some repaired seams in the seats. Crack in the dashboard. The door panels are intact but somewhat sun-faded, and the interior would benefit from a light detailing to really come into its own.
-
Exterior condition
The car was repainted in its original color in 2017 and has held up well without any major remarks since. The chrome is in fine condition, with only a few small spots of pitting on the emblems. Good tires fitted to painted original wheels.
-
General condition
A rare sight on today’s roads — a more luxurious version powered by a smooth-running inline-six engine.

Facts about the model
The more exclusive Zodiac model stood apart more clearly from the rest of the range through its unique rear-end styling, roofline, rear doors, and a more luxurious interior. Despite popular belief, the Zodiac used essentially the same engine as the Zephyr, though fitted with a larger carburetor and a freer-flowing exhaust system. Toward the end of production, a well-equipped Executive version was also offered. Estate versions for the Mk III series were built by Abbott.
