"Popular model in reasonable basic condition for an easier rolling restoration."

Description

It was delivered new in April 1988, probably in Gothenburg, and has since been used in western Sweden. The documentation shows that already in the mid-nineties it had driven over 150 000 km. The current owner has owned the car for almost 5 years and with some research, it seems that it has been used within the same family since the mid-nineties. The car has not passed the MOT since 2019.

  • Interior condition:

Patinated with normal wear and tear in relation to the mileage, with worn leather on the steering wheel and gear knob.

  • Exterior condition:

Partially repainted, mainly on the left rear with a so-called garage painting. Stone chips and a touched-up damage on the driver's door, otherwise scratches and wear on the bumpers and side skirts. Also, a noted rust damage on the left jack stand bracket.

  • General condition:

A model associated with everything that makes Alfa Romeo a popular enthusiast car. Charismatic engine, rear-wheel drive, and a unique design with a lot of charisma. A Swedish sold example in a used condition with potential for rolling restoration.

Facts about the model

The Alfa Romeo 75 was presented in May 1985 and was named to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Alfa Romeo. Just like its predecessor, the Giulietta, the Alfa Romeo 75 had its engine mounted longitudinally at the front and the gearbox at the back of the differential. This design provided excellent weight distribution, and together with advanced wheel suspensions, the car had excellent handling. Along with its sibling model, the Alfa Romeo 90, the 75 was the last family car from the manufacturer for many years to have rear-wheel drive. Its successor, the 155, shared its basic structure with the Fiat Tipo and was front-wheel drive with a transverse engine. It took almost a quarter of a century before the Giulia was launched with rear-wheel drive in 2016.
