"Beautiful patina and vintage vibe. The "Hippie Bus" is perfect for VW gatherings and weekend excursions. On the test drive, it runs and drives well, but it has to be warmed up properly, and the carbs may need to be adjusted. Inspection/MOT is free for life"

Description

This is a Swedish-sold bus that has had several owners over the past 50 years; the present owner purchased it over three years ago and has driven it frequently on weekends. During his ownership, he did minor welding in the passenger wheel housing, as well as routine oil and service checks. The bus passed its final inspection in 2019 and is now inspection-free for the rest of its life. It's functional, with a double folding bed, roof mounted pop up air vent and roof rack, as well as lots of storage; the gas cooker is present but hasn't been tested or fitted. The interior is tidy and a touch weathered, smells good, and has an easy-to-clean hardwood floor. It's ideal and ready for young owners looking for something exciting to do this summer. Is it more likely that the mileage of 44361km is 244,361km?

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

When warmed up, it runs and drives fine; the carbs will most likely need to be adjusted, as well as a general inspection. The engine was replaced in 1977/78 with a 2.0 pancake engine and its inspection/MOT free for life.

  • Interior condition

Interior is practical and clean, with a nice custom vibe, a double fold down bed, and a roof vent. The seats are comfortable, and the door cards are a touch weathered, but that is part of the bus experience.

  • Exterior condition

It started out brown and has since been repainted and enhanced into its patina look, with rust and holes, mainly around the wheels arches and cab floor, as well as previous welding work in the floors and beams. I would recommend an underbody protective treatment to prevent further corrosion.

  • General condition

It's the ideal cult bus for younger VW fans looking for something unique to take to summer festivals.
