Description
A fun story from the owner is that during the first year of ownership he spent so much of his salary in the BMW parts department that there wasn't much left at the end of each month. Over the years he has carefully upgraded the car with quality BMW components to improve its handling and braking while preserving its original character.
When purchased, the previous owner had already fitted black kidney grilles, updated BMW badges, a Sparco steering wheel and five-spoke alloy wheels. The original steering wheel and wheels are unfortunately not included. During the current owner's ownership, only the trunk lid and the front panel have been repainted, primarily to repair stone chips and minor scratches. The hood had already been repainted before the current owner purchased the car.
The owner spent a long time searching for the right E36 M3 and deliberately chose a rust-free, accident-free example. It has proven to be an excellent choice, as the car still presents beautifully today with no signs of rust. An added bonus is its factory aluminium doors, a lightweight feature unique to early E36 M3s that helps reduce weight and enhance performance.
The owner regularly used the car until 2013, after which it was largely kept in a warm garage as part of his collection. With E36 M3 values beginning to rise, he decided to preserve it in top condition while enjoying his other performance cars instead. Despite its limited use, it has been started regularly and maintained throughout its storage. The car was recently serviced in May and passed its latest inspection without a single advisory, making it ready to be enjoyed immediately.

Condition

Mechanical condition
Always maintained with high-quality 10W-60 engine oil,0 the M3 has been kept in excellent mechanical condition throughout the current ownership. It starts instantly, the legendary 3.2-litre straight-six runs smoothly, and the engine bay is exceptionally clean and tidy. It also retains its complete original BMW toolkit in the boot.
On the road, the car feels exceptionally tight, with strong performance, a precise 6-speed manual gearbox, a good clutch and powerful brakes. There are no warning lights while driving. The air conditioning is currently not working as the A/C belt has been removed; an older compressor is included but has never been fitted during the current ownership. The car sits on a clean set of alloy wheels with good tyres, is inspected until 2028-05-30, and is ready to be driven and enjoyed immediately. -
Interior condition
Interior features the sought-after BMW Hurricane cloth with Anthracite Alcantara, all to original M3 specification. The sports seats, rear seats, door cards, headliner and carpets are all in excellent condition and have been exceptionally well cared for. The dashboard and centre console are free from cracks or damage, while all gauges and displays function correctly. The electric windows, sunroof and mirrors all work as they should. The original factory radio has been replaced with a modern Alpine head unit, although the original unit is not included. Overall, this is a remarkably well-preserved and highly presentable interior.
-
Exterior condition
Finished in the iconic Dakar Yellow, one of the most desirable colours for the E36 M3, this example presents exceptionally well. The bodywork is straight and free from rust, with just a small dent on the edge of the passenger door. The underbody is equally clean, showing no signs of accident damage or corrosion. The paintwork retains a deep, bright finish with only minor age-related marks, while the exterior trim is clean and tidy throughout. Please note the BMW badges have been replaced with aftermarket items rather than the original factory emblems.

General condition
This is an exceptionally well-kept, rust-free E36 M3 that has benefited from a number of tasteful upgrades, all of which enhance the driving experience while respecting the car's original character. As a manual Coupé, it is one of the most sought-after E36 M3 variants worldwide and continues to appreciate in value. A quick search indicates that only around 150 manual M3 Coupés remain registered in Sweden, making this a rare opportunity to own an increasingly collectible modern classic.
