Description
In 2003, the car underwent a comprehensive frame-off restoration, completed in 2005. Every aspect of the car was restored, including the body, paintwork, interior, engine, drivetrain, suspension, and mechanical components.
Following the restoration, the car was sold to a Swiss collector, who registered it in Belgium before later selling it to a Swedish collector from Älvdalen. The car was imported and registered in Sweden in 2013, remaining with that owner until 2020, when it was sold to an enthusiast in Nässjö. The current owner purchased the car in 2025, but it has only been driven on a handful of occasions and is now being offered for sale following the owner's recent passing.
More than 20 years after its restoration, the car still presents in exceptional condition throughout, a testament to both the quality of the restoration and the careful ownership it has enjoyed ever since. Also included is a USB memory stick containing extensive photographs documenting the restoration from start to finish.

Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
Supercharged V8 starts easily with a few pumps of the accelerator and settles into a smooth idle after a brief warm-up. The column-shift gearbox works well, the car feels stable on the road, and the brakes perform as they should. The engine bay is exceptionally clean. We recommend only a routine oil service, fluid check, and a slight idle adjustment. Fitted with good whitewall tyres, complete with the original toolkit, inspection exempt, and ready to drive.
-
Interior condition
Interior remains in exceptional condition and shows very little sign of use. The white leather seats with grey patterned cloth inserts are all damage-free, while the door cards, carpets, side panels, and headlining are equally well preserved. The dashboard is undamaged, with all original gauges in working order, and a discreet modern radio has been fitted. The cabin is full of chrome and authentic 1950s charm. The only minor point to note is a loose homemade panel at the rear of the glovebox that could be refitted more neatly.
-
Exterior condition
A stunning example throughout, with straight bodywork free from dents and rust, matched by an equally clean underbody. The paintwork retains a deep, glossy finish more than 20 years after restoration, a testament to the quality of the work. Chrome trim and brightwork are excellent throughout. Only minor points to note are that the driver's door would benefit from a slight adjustment for a better fit, and the chrome flip out trim on the passenger door could be realigned.

General condition
A top-class Golden Hawk, full of iconic 1950s style and supercharged V8 performance. Arguably one of the finest examples currently available in Europe and a rare opportunity for any serious American classic collector.
Facts about the model
Styled under the direction of legendary designer Raymond Loewy, the Golden Hawk combined dramatic tail fins, generous chrome detailing and a distinctive bonnet scoop, creating one of the most recognisable American cars of the 1950s. Inside, it featured a luxurious interior with aircraft-inspired instrumentation and all the flair expected from the era.
With only 4,305 examples built for 1957, the Golden Hawk is one of the rarest and most desirable American collector cars. Its combination of striking design, factory supercharged performance and low production numbers has made it highly sought after by enthusiasts worldwide, with the best examples becoming increasingly difficult to find.
