Description
Now, in 2025, the car has been reassembled and has received a new windshield, radiator, timing belt kit, and water pump. The Opel has also been serviced during this work. It comes with one set of keys but no service book.
In many of the photos, the passenger-side sun visor is missing and the windshield lacks the rearview mirror; these were installed toward the end of the photo session and can be seen mounted in some of the pictures.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
The engine and drivetrain run well. New timing belt kit, water pump, and radiator have been installed. The car is missing a radio. The gas struts for the tailgate are weak.
-
Interior condition
The interior is in used, typical condition for a car with around 170,000 km. The parcel shelf is not original; it’s a board fitted with speakers. There are a few small stains on the upholstery and the headliner fabric.
-
Exterior condition
Repainted in 2021 and has since been unused. Glossy and nice. Beautiful wheels with tires that have good tread depth. The underside appears to be in good condition.
-
General condition
Good used condition. The Opel is currently unregistered, so to drive it on public roads it will need to pass an inspection—but this shouldn’t be a major issue.

Facts about the model
The Kadett GSi had previously been available as a 1.8 GSi and later as a 2.0 8V, but it was the introduction of the 16-valve engine in 1988 that truly put the model on the map. Developed in collaboration with Cosworth, this engine remains legendary among enthusiasts for its robustness and power.
The Kadett GSi 16V was very successful in amateur racing and rallying—especially in Group N and Group A during the late ’80s and early ’90s. It also became a favorite among young drivers in Europe thanks to its excellent price-to-performance ratio.
