"A preserved everyday hero from a brand where almost all models today have an enthusiast status."

Description

Sweden’s second most common car after the Volvo 240 in the late 1970s. A small note on the wood veneer of the instrument panel indicates that the car’s hometown was Gothenburg and its owner was Åke Peterzon. There are no papers or documents showing where the car was originally sold, but Peterzon may have been the first owner, and perhaps it was sold by a dealer in Gothenburg. A search in the National Archives would provide the answer if one wants to know. In any case, it eventually ended up in Östergötland, where the current owner purchased it. The latest approved inspection was done on 2023-10-10.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Surprisingly tight and quiet feel in the engine, transmission, and chassis. The idle is a bit high and needs adjustment, but the car feels great on the road and responds well. The current owner has a car workshop and has performed a thorough service. He is also a Saab enthusiast, and his membership in the Saab club is evident here and there on the car.

  • Interior condition:

Original inredning i bevarat och normalt skick i förhållande till körsträcka, litet slitagehål i passagerarstolens nackskyddskudde och på baksätets ryggstöd, längts upp till höger (bilder). Bra innertak, mattor och dörrsidor.

  • Exterior condition:

Partially repainted below the waistline, where a slight color difference can be seen. Otherwise, the exterior gives a nice overall impression. It is extra equipped with original turbo INCA wheels and new budget tires with a cheerful name – Linglong.

  • General condition:

A representative 99 from its era in fine and user-friendly condition, road-ready and inspected. The turbo wheels were an upgrade at the time and possibly have a higher desirability factor on a late 70s 99 Turbo today. Regardless, they are a nice set of wheels.
