Description
On 2 November 1995, ownership passed to a dedicated enthusiast and a well-known figure within the Saab owners' community, who has retained the car ever since.
The car has been serviced regularly by authorised Saab workshops, with the most recent service carried out on 25 August 2025. Whenever maintenance or repairs have been required, they have been addressed without delay. Most recently, both front suspension top mounts were repaired due to corrosion, and the rear wheel arch lips and rear panel received rust repairs and repainting.
Over the years, the owner has also commissioned several desirable upgrades, including the installation of a high-mounted rear brake light, an immobiliser, an electric sunroof fitted by Saab specialist Regefalk & Rahm, and heated rear seats (left and right), also installed by the same company. The engine has been upgraded with a 255 hp performance package from Maptun (formerly Uhr Nordic) and is paired with a Ferrita stainless-steel 3-inch exhaust system.
The car has always been garage-kept.
The current odometer displays 374,800 km, but the instrument cluster was replaced in December 2022. At the time of replacement, the original odometer showed 540,670 km, while the replacement unit displayed 338,540 km. As a result, the car has travelled 202,040 km more than the current odometer indicates, giving a true total mileage of 576,840 km.
This, along with virtually every aspect of the car's history, is comprehensively documented in a collection of binders included with the vehicle. Everything from servicing and repairs to purchases, upgrades, and day-to-day ownership has been carefully recorded. When the original service book became full, the maintenance history continued on additional loose sheets.
The sale includes the owner's manual, additional Saab literature, and two keys. A set of studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta winter tyres in good condition is also included.
The car has a valid inspection certificate and is ready to drive.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
The engine started easily and settled into a smooth, steady idle. During a relaxed test drive in urban traffic, with a few opportunities for brisk acceleration, the car performed well overall. The steering (although the steering wheel was slightly off-centre), clutch, gearbox, handling, and brakes all functioned as they should.
The car was not inspected on a lift, but the visible underside and major mechanical components appeared to be in good condition. -
Interior condition
A well-preserved and well-maintained interior, with the seats retaining excellent support and comfort. The door panels, interior trim, carpets, and headliner are all in good condition. The steering wheel, controls, dashboard, and instruments also function well. All electrical features are in working order, and the air conditioning blows cold. The sunroof is in good condition, operates properly, and is watertight.
-
Exterior condition
The car retains much of its original paintwork, although several panels—including the bonnet, one front wing, and sections of the wheel arches—have been repainted. Overall, it presents very well considering its age and mileage. There is, however, some early-stage corrosion at the lower sections of the A-pillars.
The exterior plastics, rubber seals, trim, badges, and lighting are all in good condition. The car is fitted with attractive Aero alloy wheels wearing newer Michelin tyres. Both the engine bay and luggage compartment are clean and well presented. -
General condition
A high-mileage example that has nevertheless benefited from dedicated and enthusiastic care for more than 30 years, leaving it in remarkably good cosmetic and mechanical condition. The Saab 9000 Aero is an iconic and highly sought-after model, widely regarded as one of the marque's true modern classics and increasingly recognised as a collectible.

Facts about the model
The 9000 was offered as both a four-door saloon and a five-door hatchback and was available in a wide range of versions, from practical family cars to luxurious and high-performance models. One of the most notable special editions was the Talladega, named after the speed records Saab set at the Talladega Superspeedway in the United States.
For the 1992 model year, Saab introduced the updated 9000 CS, featuring a redesigned front end, improved safety, a catalytic converter as standard, and extended service intervals.
Launched in the autumn of 1992, the Saab 9000 Aero was the range-topping performance model. It featured a lowered, stiffer suspension, a 2.3-litre turbocharged engine producing 225 horsepower, a top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph), a distinctive Aero body kit, exclusive alloy wheels, and leather sports seats. At the time of its introduction, it was the fastest production Saab ever built.
The final Saab 9000 rolled off the production line on 6 May 1998 and was delivered directly to the Saab Museum. In total, 503,087 examples were produced.
