Description
The power steering system was repaired in 2018, when the cabin blower motor was also replaced. A new battery was fitted in 2021. The following year, the timing belt and ignition coils were replaced. Last year, the car received a service including an oil and filter change, along with a new auxiliary belt tensioner and drive belt.
The car is fitted with an auxiliary light bar.
Included with the car are the owner's manual and a selection of supporting documentation. Two keys are included. The car has a valid inspection and is ready to drive.

Mechanical condition
The engine starts easily and runs smoothly. During a test drive on quiet country roads, everything performed as it should, including the steering, clutch, gearbox, handling, and brakes.
The Peugeot 406 is an enjoyable car to drive, and in Coupé form it combines elegant styling with composed and rewarding road manners. The car was not inspected on a lift, but all visible mechanical components appeared to be in good condition. The most recent inspection reported no remarks. -
Interior condition
The interior remains in fine original condition, with comfortable front seats and a surprisingly spacious rear seat for a coupé, offering ample room even for adult passengers. As is common on these cars, there is some wear to the driver's seat bolster and the backs of the front seats from regular entry and exit.
The door panels, interior trim, headliner, and carpets are all in very good condition. The car is fitted with custom textile floor mats trimmed in a colour that matches the leather interior, although the driver's mat is missing.
The steering wheel, controls, dashboard, and instruments are all well preserved. The horn switch on the steering wheel is unfortunately no longer operational, so an auxiliary horn button has been installed instead. All other electrical functions operate correctly, including the air conditioning, which blows cold. The integrated Clarion stereo system is fully functional. -
Exterior condition
First unveiled nearly 30 years ago, this model remains timeless in its design and is now well on its way to becoming a recognised modern classic and enthusiast's car. This particular example is a well-preserved, original car with relatively few owners and low mileage. While there are a few details that could benefit from attention, it is an attractive and honest example overall.

Facts about the model
Launched in 1996, the 406 Coupé was immediately praised for its elegant styling and exceptional build quality. It received widespread acclaim from the motoring press and won several comparison tests, including one against the Volvo C70 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupé. The flagship version featured a silky-smooth 3.0-litre V6 engine, a leather interior with Recaro seats, and a premium JBL audio system. The model was also offered with 2.0- and 2.2-litre petrol engines, as well as a 2.2-litre HDi diesel, although the diesel version was never sold in Sweden.
To celebrate Pininfarina's 70th anniversary, a numbered special edition known as the Settant'anni ("Seventy Years") was introduced. Following a minor facelift in 2004, production came to an end in 2005. In total, 107,633 examples of the Peugeot 406 Coupé were built, comfortably exceeding the original production target of 70,000 cars.

For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
