"Model T Fords come in many shapes and variations—this particular model belongs to the sportier kind."

Description

This car is part of a private collection. The Ford was purchased by the current owner at an auction in Georgia, USA. The previous owner had passed away, and the estate sent the car to auction, where the current owner won the bidding. The vehicle was imported to Sweden and registered on June 12, 2007.

According to information received at the time of purchase, the car was well known in Atlanta, having participated in numerous events—which it has continued to do in Sweden. Notably, it took part in the Model T's 100th anniversary celebration in Gysinge, organized by the Swedish Model T Club.

The name “Runabout” carries a certain sense of joy and spontaneity—suggesting that this was a car made for, if not wild, then certainly carefree and unplanned drives. The Ford is in good running condition and presents well both mechanically and visually. It has been well cared for and remains in a fine, unspoiled state. Included with the car is a convertible top frame and a shrunken top that needs to be replaced.

Facts about the model

The course of automotive history changed forever when Henry Ford founded the Ford Motor Company in 1903. Ford himself owned 25.5% of the shares and served as vice president and chief engineer. In the beginning, only a few cars were produced each day at the Ford plant on Mack Avenue in Detroit, where two or three men worked on each car, built to order for other companies. The company’s first car was sold on July 23, 1903.

Henry became the company’s CEO and majority owner in 1906. In 1908, he realized his dream of producing an affordable, reliable, and efficient automobile with the introduction of the Model T. This car marked the beginning of a new era in personal transportation. It was easy to drive, maintain, and operate—even on poor roads—and quickly became a great success.
