"Restored in the early 1990s in the USA to exhibition condition. Has remained in excellent condition since then. Functions without any issues."

Description

A meticulously restored Special Eight with the smooth and refined straight-eight engine under the hood and a three-speed transmission. The car has been beautifully repainted and features sparkling chrome accents. The interior has been carefully reupholstered in velour with numerous fine period-correct details. In 1941, the Special Eight received an updated front design.
This car is in exhibition condition and runs smoothly and flawlessly. It was imported to Sweden in its current state in 1997 and was part of the Jännaholms Car Museum collection. The current owner acquired the car for their collection in 2018 and has further enhanced its condition. It has been sparingly used for exhibitions and gatherings.

Facts about the model

In the early 1940s, the Special model was Buick's entry-level full-size car. Building upon the foundation of the 1939 model with a shorter wheelbase and a wide grille, the next update came in 1941. This time, the wheelbase was further reduced, but not many other changes were made. The engine remained the same 248 cubic inch straight-eight producing 117 horsepower, paired with a three-speed transmission that continued even after the subsequent body change in 1941, where the front fenders were more integrated into the overall design.
