Description
The car was re-registered in 1972 and appears to have undergone a restoration and repaint at some stage, likely more than 30 years ago. The current owner purchased the car in 2010 and has enjoyed ownership for the past 16 years. A practical enthusiast with a good understanding of these cars, he has carried out much of the maintenance himself.
Recent work includes the installation of a new fuel pump and a set of new crossply tyres, which have made a noticeable improvement to both the driving experience and road manners.
One point worth mentioning is that, during a previous owner's tenure, the engine suffered frost damage which resulted in a crack in the engine block. However, during the current owner's 16 years of ownership, this has never caused any issues. The engine does not leak, and the car has remained reliable and enjoyable to drive.
Today, the Chevrolet presents well with solid bodywork, attractive chrome and trim, and a clean, tidy interior that retains much of its original character. The paintwork shows some age-related blemishes, including a few small blisters and touch-ups, but these do not detract from the car's authentic vintage appearance and charm. Overall, this is an honest and highly usable pre-war American classic that can be enjoyed as it is.

Condition
-
Mechanical condition
The engine starts easily and, once warmed through, the 3.5-litre inline-six runs smoothly and quietly with no unusual noises. It drives well, with an easy three-speed gearbox, solid brakes, and is happiest cruising at 70–80 km/h. The engine bay is tidy, and the car sits on steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and new crossply tyres. Inspection-exempt and ready to enjoy.
-
Interior condition
Interior is clean and tidy, featuring plush fabric seats, door cards, trim panels, and headlining, all in good condition for their age. The left side of the front passenger seat has a small 2 cm repair. The dashboard remains in lovely original condition with its vintage Bakelite knobs, and the car is fitted with an interior heater. Front and rear lap belts have also been fitted for added safety.
-
Exterior condition
These cars were built to last and are renowned for their thick steel panels and resistance to rust. The bodywork on this example is straight, with no notable damage or corrosion, and the underbody is equally solid. The paintwork presents well overall, although closer inspection reveals some age-related imperfections, including paint cracks around panel edges, a few touch-ups, and some small blisters and scratches on the left rear wing (see pictures). The chrome trim and brightwork are clean and present nicely.

General condition
A highly usable and enjoyable vintage Chevrolet that is reliable, easy to maintain, and benefits from a strong and enthusiastic owner community. A charming pre-war classic that can be driven and enjoyed with confidence.
