"German engineering from the 1980s and 1990s, with build quality, comfort, and functionality that still hold up today. This vehicle is a time capsule from that era."

Description

This vehicle was first registered for road use on October 8, 1990. It was leased for its first year before being returned to Din Bil. Sven purchased it there in March 1992 and went on to own it for 34 years.

Living close to his workplace, Sven usually walked to work, which meant the car was driven sparingly. When not in use, it was kept in a garage.

The car comes with a stamped service book, owner's manual, and accompanying documentation.

It has a valid inspection and is ready to drive.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

Started easily, and the engine ran smoothly. During a gentle test drive in an industrial area, the steering, clutch, gearbox, handling, and brakes were found to function without any issues. Comfortable ride quality and a pleasant driving feel.

The vehicle was not inspected on a lift, but the visible vital components appeared to be in good condition. There were no remarks noted during the vehicle inspection.

  • Interior condition

Well-preserved original interior with comfortable plush upholstery showing only light signs of wear. The steering wheel, controls, dashboard, and instruments are all in very good condition. All functions appear to operate properly. The manual sunroof works as intended. Equipped with a functioning Foxguard immobilizer with PIN code. The luggage compartment is in good condition.

  • Exterior condition

Well-presented and glossy original Tornado Red paintwork with minor signs of age and use, including a few door dings and small stone chips. Plastic and rubber trim, moldings, and badges are in good condition. The lighting components are well preserved. The wheels and hubcaps are in good condition, and the tires have plenty of life left. The engine bay is in good condition and could be improved even further with detailing.

  • General condition

Overall, this is a vehicle that has retained much of the character and feel it had when it was first delivered. While it has spent 36 years on the road and there are naturally a few details that could be attended to, very few examples remain in this condition. A car that is now firmly stepping into classic and enthusiast territory.

Facts about the model

The Audi 100 was launched in 1967 and produced across four generations (C1, C2, C3, and C4) until 1994, when it was succeeded by the Audi A6.

This particular vehicle is a C3 model, produced between 1982 and 1991. It was available with either front-wheel drive or quattro all-wheel drive, and offered with a range of four- and five-cylinder petrol engines producing between 90 and 165 hp, as well as a five-cylinder diesel engine.

For the 1988 model year, Audi introduced the new 2.3 E five-cylinder engine, producing 136 hp. The C3 was also notable for its aerodynamic design, achieving a drag coefficient (Cd) of between 0.20 and 0.33 depending on the version.

During 1988, the model received a mild facelift, known as the "88B" update, which included a redesigned curved dashboard and flush-mounted door handles, among other refinements.
