"This is a truly special vehicle—a genuine U.S. police car, still equipped with nearly all of its original law enforcement gear. While the automatic rifle and shotgun have been replaced with Soft Airgun replicas, they remain mounted between the front seats, just as they should be. The onboard computer runs a working version of Windows XP, and the rest of the equipment is operational—except for communication with HQ and the FBI.

Lights and sirens work in various modes, and the car itself runs well. It’s inspected and road-ready."

Description

This Police Cruiser served from 2000 to 2007 in the City of Bell, a suburb of Los Angeles. It was originally registered there in August 2000. The car was imported to Sweden in June 2011 and registered for road use on September 20 that same year.

The current owner—an enthusiast with a passion for military, rescue, and police vehicles—acquired it on May 2, 2022. Following the purchase, the vehicle underwent a full inspection and servicing.

The car retains nearly all of its original police equipment, including: front and rear eyewitness radar, in-dash camera, siren control unit, light bar and strobe lights, communication equipment, on-board computer, and gun rack between the front seats (for an assault rifle and pump-action shotgun). It also features a partition wall and molded plastic rear seats with arm cutouts for handcuffed detainees.

On the exterior, the vehicle is outfitted with a front push bar, dual spotlights, light bar, siren, strobe lights, and seven antennas.

Mechanically, it’s equipped with heavy-duty springs and control arms, reinforced chassis/frame, upgraded brakes, extra oil coolers for the engine, transmission, and power steering, and a strengthened body and roof.

The car is inspected and road-ready.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Starts easily and the engine and drivetrain run smoothly. Steering, overdrive automatic transmission, handling, brakes, and other systems all perform well.

It hasn't been inspected on a lift, but everything visible underneath appears to be in good condition. The car has a reinforced underbody, spent many years in California, and has seen only limited use in Sweden—factors that suggest a well-preserved chassis. No remarks from the vehicle inspection.

  • Interior condition:

The interior is virtually complete and correct for a police vehicle. Everything shows normal wear for its age and service life, and most items are operational. Steering-wheel controls, dashboard, and gauges all work. The AC blows cold, and the standard stereo functions properly. The camera has come loose but should be straightforward to reattach.

  • Exterior condition:

Well-preserved original condition with decals and equipment from its time in the City of Bell. The paint is in good shape with wear consistent with age and former service use. Glass, chrome, trim, emblems, lighting components, and remaining police equipment are all in good condition. Wheels and tires are solid, and both the engine bay and trunk are in similarly good shape. The trunk features a sturdy electronics rack.

  • General condition:

If you're a fan of American police vehicles and want authentic looks, lights, sounds, and details, this is a truly compelling car. All the equipment functions as it should, and the vehicle’s regular driving characteristics are also intact. It’s easy to imagine stepping into the role of Dirty Harry behind the wheel. A bold and exciting enthusiast vehicle.

Facts about the model

The Ford Crown Victoria was produced between 1955–1956 and later from 1980–2011. Here in Sweden, we have a special affection for the early models with the signature chrome roof band, and especially the 1956 Skyliner with its plexiglass roof section ahead of the band—quite a few of these cars made their way to Sweden.

In the early 1980s, the Crown Victoria name was revived for a more upscale version of the LTD model, which it would eventually replace entirely. It was a full-size car that competed with models like the Chevrolet Caprice.

The second generation of the later production, built from 1998 to 2011, became especially popular as a police vehicle in the U.S. and was sold under the name Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. These versions featured reinforced bodies and chassis, upgraded equipment, and period-specific electronics tailored for law enforcement use.

In total, around one million units of the 1998–2011 generation were produced.
