Description

This Volkswagen 1303 S Cabriolet LS was originally sold in Germany and arrived in Sweden in 1979. The previous owner purchased the car in 1995 and performed a complete renovation, including a new dark green metallic paint job. The car features stainless steel running boards and additional chrome accessories. It has also been slightly lowered. The current owner has owned six "bubblor" (Beetles) in total, with the first one being from the 1953 model year. This particular car is her first cabriolet. She acquired the car in 1997 and has applied undercoating, installed new rear brakes, and kept it stored indoors during the winter months with a cover during the summer. The car has been used for various events, including transporting happy students, both their own and others, in a flower-decorated and flag-adorned vehicle. They have also attended the Classic Car Week in Rättvik and other enthusiast gatherings. The car has been sparingly used in recent years.

Facts about the model

The Volkswagen Cabriolet was introduced as early as 1948 and was produced until 1980. In its final years, it was primarily manufactured for the US market. Most of the convertibles were built under license for VW by Karmann in Osnabrück. From 1973, VW 1303 cars were used as the base for the conversion. The 1303 was the finest and most expensive German-built Beetle model, which ceased production in 1975 when the VW Golf took over. However, the Beetle Cabriolet remained popular for several years afterward and was produced until 1980. The current car represents the latest version for the European market and is now a sought-after collector's car.
