Description
It ended up at Ådalen Vintage Car Museum in Kramfors. There it remained stored away until 2011. It was then acquired by Härnösand Car Museum with the intention of restoring it and displaying it at the museum. The team behind Härnösand Car Museum carries out winter restorations on several vehicles each year and rotates cars in the exhibition. Unfortunately, time is limited, so they have decided to pass on the Caravelle Cabriolet. It can be described as a good project car since most of its parts are available. It requires bodywork restoration. Both the original soft top frame and the original hard top are included with the car. The accompanying hard top is exceptionally well-preserved. The current mileage is 2 820 km, and we are unaware of the total distance traveled. It was only 10 years old when it was taken off the road in 1978. 1968 marked the final year of production for the Caravelle, with only 1,438 units produced that year.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
The engine is complete with all side components and can be rotated, although it has not been started under the current owner's ownership.
-
Interior condition
The hard top has a nice interior lining. Please see pictures. The floor mat, although in poor condition, is included as a template. The seats and rear bench are intact but heavily soiled. We believe that with professional detailing, it is possible to restore a significant portion of the interior to an acceptable usable condition.
-
Exterior condition
Here lies the major challenge. The body requires a complete restoration. Please see pictures for more information.
-
General condition
An uncommon car that is worth the effort of restoration today. It is a project car with great potential.
