"In many ways, it's a raw creation, but also a 2CV with a little more resources to keep up with today's traffic pace."

Description

In a Citroën 2CV and all its derivatives, the identity lies in the frame and the two-cylinder air-cooled boxer engine. This car began its mechanical life as an Ami Super, which was an Ami 8 with a four-cylinder boxer engine of 1015 cm3 and 54 horsepower from the then-new GS model. The current owner bought the car with the ambition to fulfill the temptation of fitting a 2CV body onto an Ami Super chassis. The project was carried out in 2008 and passed inspection the same year with all the necessary documents and an SFRO approval. The car maintains a somewhat raw finish in its solutions, which adds to its charm. It has never been driven in winter, except for its participation in a French TV report about a 2CV's adventure in the rally forests of Värmland during Rally Sweden 2018.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The floor-mounted gear lever and an engine sound that doesn't match its external appearance, for those who recognize the typical 2CV sound, that is. The engine is lively, providing a fun driving experience. There is potential for upgrading the engine by switching to a GSA engine of 1300 cm3 and a 5-speed gearbox. One of the owner's own solutions is an electric adjustment for the headlight alignment, located underneath the hood. The original setup in a 2CV consists of a rotating thin rod that tilts the entire headlight assembly forward. It serves as a good towing vehicle for light trailers, with a maximum trailer weight of 500 kg.

  • Interior condition:

Seats from a late 80s model with front covers. Spartan as it should be, and where the floor lever is the most obvious difference on board.

  • Exterior condition:

The seats have been replaced with ones from a late 1980s model and have front seat covers. The interior remains Spartan as it should be, with the floor-mounted gear lever being the most noticeable difference on board.

  • General condition:

A car for dedicated 2CV enthusiasts or for someone curious about the car type and wanting to take a big and crazy first step into the subculture.
