Mechanical condition
Everything appears to be functioning well, and the motorcycle offers stable and calm characteristics. It looks to be in fine condition and starts and runs smoothly. Like any collector's item that hasn't been used extensively in recent times, a thorough inspection and servicing are recommended. The radio system has been removed, and the siren function is not in use.

Interior condition
Saddle, panniers, handles and other items are in good preserved but used condition.
-
Exterior condition

General condition
A "broad-shouldered constable" and a classic police motorcycle from the era when these were commonly seen on our roads. Traffic monitoring, escort duties, and general police work were carried out with distinction, and the surviving motorcycles are now collector's items. This particular motorcycle is in a relatively complete condition, well cared for, and ready to ride.

Facts about the model
Initially, various brands were acquired, but in 1954, the first BMW models, the R67, were introduced. Eventually, BMW and their boxer engines with shaft drive came to dominate. BMW had already manufactured their first motorcycle with a boxer engine and shaft drive, the R32, in 1923. In the late 1950s, the motorcycles used by the National Police were white with black striping and chrome tank sides. After the nationalization of the police authority in 1965, all motorcycles adopted a similar appearance. With the first delivery of the BMW R60/5 and R75/5 in April 1971, the motorcycles became all-white. To reduce costs, chrome was also eliminated from the fuel tanks. The R80/7 model was later introduced, but eventually, the boxer engine was phased out of service. When the new K75 with an inline engine was introduced in 1986, the boxer motorcycles were gradually phased out. In 1989, the last of the R-series motorcycles were retired, but this turned out to be temporary. In 1996, BMW introduced a completely new factory-produced motorcycle, the R1100 RT, marking the comeback of the boxer engine, much to the delight of many police officers. However, that's a completely different story.
