Saab 95 V4 — 1968

A unique opportunity for the handy Saab enthusiast to acquire an early V4 station wagon. The car has only covered 35,440 km and has a very fine interior. Most of the rust has been skillfully repaired, so only painting and final assembly remain.

"A skillfully repaired car where the work has stalled — much has been done, and many extra parts are included, both new and used."

Description

The car was purchased new in 1968 by a man in Farsta. He drove it sparingly until 1978, when it was laid up with relatives. According to information, it has not covered more than the 35,440 km shown on the odometer. Looking at the interior, it is in very fine, unworn condition.

The car has fallen out of the vehicle register, but the original documents and a registration verification are available. A nicely repaired restoration project that stalled a few years ago is now looking for a new enthusiastic owner to get it back on the road again.

Facts about the model

The Saab 95 was introduced in 1959 and was the station wagon version of the Saab 93, later the 96. The Saab 95 was developed in parallel with the 93 and especially its successor, the Saab 96, until production was discontinued in 1978. The 95 retained its name when the 93 was replaced by the 96, but after 1967 it was also referred to as the V4 wagon. The final model years were produced in Arlöv.

The Saab 95 is a small station wagon. Up to and including the 1975 model year, it could accommodate seven passengers. This extra seat was later removed for safety reasons and replaced by the spare wheel, which had previously been stored under the rear seat. The model was also very load-capable for its size, with a payload of 425 kg in addition to curb weight.

For certain export markets, a panel van version was also produced, without fixed side windows and without a rear seat.
