Description

This car has been built by a highly knowledgeable owner with a long background in classic American cars, supported by a strong network of experienced enthusiasts and specialist suppliers. It features a fully metal body with the original frame, rebuilt using components from a Mustang II, a 1978 Ford Granada rear axle, and Ford Granada suspension. Power comes from a 1972 Ford Mercury Monterey 351 Windsor V8, paired with a Ford C6 three-speed automatic gearbox from the same model.

A full specification list and SFRO approval documentation are included in the pictures. The car is fitted with a custom-trimmed interior and a discreet Bluetooth sound system for easy modern use. The entire build has focused on creating a usable, reliable, and enjoyable car to own and drive, and it has attended numerous car shows with its owner, including Power Meet, Wings & Wheels, and many others.

As a further bonus, the cooling system has been upgraded with a larger radiator and additional electric fans, ensuring stable temperatures even during cruising and event use, with no history of overheating issues.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The car starts immediately with a smooth, stable-running engine, the automatic gearbox shifts nicely, and the engine bay is clean and well presented. Due to snowy conditions, a proper test drive was not possible, but the owner reports no issues with the car’s performance. Power output is approximately 240 hp, delivered via a four-barrel carburettor and complemented by front disc brakes. It is fitted with nice alloy wheels and good tyres, is inspection-exempt, and ready for its new owner.

  • Interior condition:

Interior is clean and tidy, with the original wooden dashboard and instruments retained, complemented by a additional temperature gauge. A newer steering column, steering wheel, and gear selector have been fitted, and the car is also equipped with a fully functioning interior heating system. The seats and door panels are trimmed in red vinyl with diamond-pattern textile, paired with a white headliner.

The stereo system is discreetly installed, with rear speakers, a bass box mounted under the seat, and a Bluetooth sender located in the boot for easy connection to a mobile phone. The only noted remark is slightly loose-fitting trim along the upper edge of the door panels.

  • Exterior condition:

Nicely and solidly built, the car is presented in a two-tone metallic grey and dark red finish, featuring a painted USA flag on the boot lid. The bodywork is straight all around, free from rust issues, and complemented by a super-clean underbody. The car presents well overall, but on closer inspection there are some cosmetic imperfections, including paint blemishes dotted around, areas of orange peel, light paint scuffing around the lower front wings, a small dent along the boot edges, and a few slightly misaligned side trim pieces (see pictures). The front windscreen seals would ideally benefit from improved fitment or an alternative sealing solution.

These are purely cosmetic points that can be improved over time or simply left as-is, with nothing urgent required.

  • General condition:

Built as a fun and usable custom Ford, this car is easy to run and maintain, with no complicated electronics—just simple, old-school engineering. A great deal of time and money has been invested in the build, resulting in an enjoyable and characterful car that’s ready to deliver plenty of smiles for its next owner.
