"Opportunity to buy an unusually intact and fine 9-5. No serious rust issues. Well-kept interior and pleasant to drive with a 150 hp low-pressure turbo."

Description

Equipped with climate control, a stereo, a trip computer, 16-inch wheels, and more, this Saab 9-5 had a single owner from Täby near Stockholm between 2005 and 2023, reaching 108,000 km in that period. Since 2014, it has been driven only 2,000 km, and the mileage is confirmed by inspection history and service records.

Inside, the car’s interior is intact and in good condition. It offers a pleasant driving experience—responsive and relatively fuel-efficient—with high comfort levels. It can tow up to 1,390 kg on a regular B license, making it practical for both everyday use and long-distance travel.

Now nearing 20 years old, it qualifies as a modern classic or “Youngtimer,” making it perfect as both an enthusiast’s hobby car and a reliable daily driver.

As for safety, this generation of the Saab 9-5 was recognized by Folksam’s surveys as Sweden’s safest car. Although production ended in February 2010—when the final 9-5 was built at 12:30 and placed in the Saab Car Museum—Folksam’s 2014 report still showed that this model was 40% safer than the average car, making it the safest passenger vehicle on Swedish roads at the time.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Starts right up and drives well, with the engine, gearbox, and brakes all in good working order. There are no warning lights on the dashboard. The service book shows eight stamps, and recent maintenance includes new front and rear exhausts, new spark plugs, a new fuel filter, and a replaced vacuum hose. The car is inspected until 2025-02-28. Please note that the trip computer’s display is a bit faint and can be difficult to read.

  • Interior condition:

interior is intact and in good condition, reflecting the car’s low mileage of only 110,000 km. There’s a small mark on the inside of the driver’s door, as well as a few light marks on the seats. All electric features—including windows, central locking, radio, driver’s seat, and mirrors—are in working order, though the mirror adjustments are not fully functional in every direction. The air conditioning blows cold, although it’s hard to test thoroughly in the current cold weather.

  • Exterior condition:

Neat and tidy car that presents itself well, but it does have clear coat issues on the roof, the rear top of the boot hatch, and a few spots on the bonnet (see pictures). Rust is minimal, with some bubbling around the rear lower wheel arch on the driver’s side and around the rear panels (see pictures). The underbody appears clean and tidy. The alloy wheels have a few scuffs, and the tires are all in decent condition.

  • General condition:

The car makes an unusually good overall impression, requiring only a few minor cosmetic fixes. Its low mileage is quite rare—most others have at least double the distance. Comfortable, safe, and fun to drive, it’s also becoming a popular youngtimer among enthusiasts and collectors.
