"A popular model that looks solid."

Description

The current owner has owned the Saab for 10 years. The car has an older repaint that was done sometime in the 1970s. The engine was replaced by a previous user and, according to the current owner, it was renovated in 2021 by Lars "Julle" Olofsson, Extec Engineering in Ås. The car was equipped with new tires in 2022. There is rust, but not to a greater extent. According to reports, there was one owner between 1959 and 1981, a gentleman from Hällfors whose nameplate is still on the dashboard. In total, the car has had four owners. The upholstery is in original condition with signs of use. A Saab in a nice patinated condition and with a little minor fixing, it will be even better.

Facts about the model

The Saab 93 was Saab's second model and was introduced at the end of 1955. Compared to its predecessor, the 92, it featured, among other things, a new longitudinally mounted three-cylinder two-stroke engine, more comfortable seats, and a twelve-volt electrical system. Unlike the Saab 92, it also had significantly better wheel suspension with coil springs and a rigid rear axle.

In September 1957, the 93B was introduced, which had a full front windshield and proper turn signals. As an accessory earlier the same year, the ingenious Saxomat clutch was also introduced, which meant that the driver did not need to disengage the clutch with their foot. This was a German invention used in several other European cars.

In 1958, the sport model Granturismo 750 was introduced with a sport engine, and at the same time, the other models received some updates like windshield washers and an external rear-view mirror. In February 1960, the Saab 93 was replaced by the 96.
