"UPDATE the enginge rolls over with a very good push, newer pictures added, electric windows not working.

The car is currently in good technical condition, with a complete and tidy engine compartment. It has been stored in a garage for the past 23 years, with its last inspection dating back to 1998. However, we haven't attempted to start or test the car because it necessitates a comprehensive engine review and overhaul, demanding specialist knowledge due to the specific requirements of these engines. To facilitate future transportation, we have manually raised the hydraulic suspension, and the car rolls smoothly with a functioning handbrake."

Description

This car had its initial purchase by a Swedish company in 1976 and was officially registered on December 15, 1976. The second owner acquired the car in 1983, initially registering it under the company's name. Subsequently, in 1988, assumed private ownership, effectively being the same owner for 40 years. During the 1980s, the car received service in Italy, including a rear timing chain overhaul; however, regrettably, there is no documentation available to corroborate these details. Owning and operating this particular car requires specialized knowledge, as it will necessitate a thorough engine inspection and overhaul before it can be started and driven. It is crucial to address the known engine issues associated with these Maserati engines.

Presently, the car remains in a very presentable condition, having undergone a repaint sometime during the 1980s. It exhibits only minor blemishes in a few areas. The interior is exceptionally well-preserved, featuring blue textile upholstery, intact instrumentation, and an undamaged dashboard. According to certain Citroën enthusiasts, the carburetor engine variant is considered more desirable and easier to maintain.

For an enthusiast well-versed in these cars, this car represents an excellent opportunity. The current mileage of 77,463 km appears to be original, as an older inspection report from 1993 indicates 77,291 km, and the car hasn't seen much use since then. However, we should note that verifying the exact mileage may be challenging, as there isn't an extensive amount of documentation included.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

BWA hasn't attempted to start or test the car, but as previously mentioned, all components are intact under the hood. The car hasn't been driven for over 20 years. It's easily transportable, but you'll need a winch and trailer for transportation. It only needs one more inspection/MOT to become permanently exempt. Additionally, it comes with a new old stock and highly sought-after Anas Marmitte exhaust system, along with attractive wheels, hubcaps, and older tires.

  • Interior condition

The interior of the car is in remarkably good condition and is entirely complete. It features attractive blue textile seats, and there are what appear to be slightly newer blue carpets. The dashboard and instrumentation are all original, showing only slight signs of normal wear. A standout feature is the radio placement in the center console under the manual gear shifter. Even today, the interior maintains a futuristic appearance and feel, making it a unique and timeless design.

  • Exterior condition

As previously mentioned, the car received a repaint in its original white color during the 1980s, which has held up well due to its dry storage for over 20 years. The bodywork remains straight and clean, and the underbody is also in good condition. However, there are a few blisters noticeable around the body panels, as shown in the pictures. Additionally, there is rust on the rear rubber bumper section, and the passenger door displays blisters on the inner corner. There is also a crack in the windscreen around the rearview mirror. On a positive note, the chrome work is in good condition all around the car, and there are no damages to the glass surrounding the headlights.

  • General condition

Finding these cars for sale at a reasonable price can be a challenge, and this particular one offers a fantastic opportunity for the right buyer. With some work over the winter, it has the potential to be back on the road and ready to enjoy next summer. It's a project worth considering for enthusiasts looking to restore and experience the unique charm of this classic car.
