"Owned and restored by a well-known VW enthusiast in Sweden who has worked on numerous bus restorations. There are no remarks because the bus is like new and has a completely rebuilt engine and gearbox."

The bus was purchased and imported from Michigan, USA, three years ago, and it had suffered from around 30% rust damage, especially in the flooring and bottom body. Its an original Germany built bus.

The owner has restored over 10 additional buses and has extensive Volkswagen experience. The full renovation took just over a year to complete, needing roughly 2000 hours of work by four workers and costing approximately 300,000 kr in parts. Everything about the bodywork has been stripped and sandblasted down to bare metal before being entirely professionally rebuilt from the ground up with proper VW body panels. They used lead loading in the renovation, which increases rigidity and minimizes the need for a lot of body filler "its a black art." The bus also had a laser alignment to ensure that the body and bodywork were properly aligned. When the bodywork was finished, it was professionally repainted with 6 coats of paint.

The interior has been completely reupholstered in the correct vinyl and color for the model and year, and it has been done to the highest standard.  To top it all off, the engine and gearbox were completely renovated by a VW specialist for over 50,000kr. As the owner puts it, "it's like buying a new bus or, at the very least, a better bus." The bus has been newly registered and inspected, and it is ready to drive home; the mileage has been reset to zero since the renovation was completed.
