Saab 93B De Luxe Two Stroke — 1959

Excellent Saab 93B from the previous year, with front hinged "suicide" doors. Of course, it was sold and owned in Sweden by a Saab enthusiast, and it was perhaps the greatest color.

"A really attractive and enjoyable to drive car that has been carefully maintained both inside and out. The only difficulty is that everyone wants a picture of the car."

This car was bought new in Sweden in 1959 and spent 20 years with its first owner in Borlänge before being sold to the second owner in Linköping in 1984 and ultimately to the current owner in 1990. The car is now ready for a new Saab enthusiast after 31 years of ownership by an ex-Saab employee and Saab aficionado. When we arrived to pick up the car, it felt as if the owner had lost a family member, because he had valued the car and maintained it in perfect condition. The sole reason for selling is a lack of time.

No cost was spared on the car throughout the years, and it was extensively repainted 20+ years ago with 6 coats of paint at the Saab factory "via the necessary connections," as well as the fact that he worked in the detailing department.

  • Mechanical condition:

The car starts well and drives smoothly in the gears and brakes, and it has been regularly serviced and maintained. Everyone enjoys the sound and smell of a high-revving two-stroke engine. It will be delivered with a new inspection/MOT

  • Interior condition:

The interior has period details, and the seats are in excellent condition with only a few small holes in the rear and drivers seats. According to research, the interior has been reupholstered and upgraded to current red cotton from red vinyl. The driver door card near the handle has two minor holes (see photos). Good carpets and dry floors beneath.

  • Exterior condition:

Very clean and straight bodywork with minimal rust, not bad for a 62-year-old. "See images" for a little repair on the corner of the drive door edge. Clean underbody with an excellent under seal and rust protection. Given its age, the chrome work detailing is in good condition.

  • General condition:

Very original car that has been well maintained by its owners, it ticks all the boxes for a collector or enthusiast. It will also be delivered with a new inspection/MOT, which it does not actually require but the owner insists.
