Mechanical condition
The engine hesitates slightly after startup, but after a few seconds and a bit of revving, everything sounds right and as it should. The gearbox shifts smoothly and seamlessly, and the brakes engage evenly and effectively. The muffler has been replaced with a stainless steel one, giving it a slightly livelier sound than the original. The large air filter housing, however, shows an unexpected amount of surface rust.

Interior condition
Classic and stylish velour upholstery in an elegant Mercedes-like design. The carpets, wood trim, and headliner are in good condition, and the electric sunroof works perfectly. The period-correct radio was functional during documentation, but since it sits loose in the panel, a wire came undone, causing the sound to cut out—this should be an easy fix.
Additionally, the AC is non-functional, and the sun visors are slightly discolored. The right window lift doesn’t work, but according to the previous owner, it’s due to a connector under the center console that easily comes loose. Notably, the specially equipped heated seats come with their own dedicated instruction manual. -
Exterior condition
The car received a new paint job in the 1990s due to an insurance claim after someone deliberately scratched the paint. It has good rust protection. The tires are older but have good tread and are mounted on original "Baroque" wheels, which appear to have been partially repainted. A nice touch is the sought-after Bosch fog lights, a popular upgrade often fitted to prestige cars of the 1980s.

General condition
A representative example in a nice condition with a well-documented history. A bit of research led to an informative and pleasant conversation with the previous owner, who had the car for 23 years—adding to the car’s overall positive impression.

Facts about the model
The SLC was the first and only time Mercedes-Benz based its S-Class coupé on an extended SL roadster platform rather than a full-size S-Class sedan model. Production ended in 1981, earlier than the SL version. Interestingly, the C107 even saw a bit of rally action, including participation in the Bandama Rally in Africa.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
