Description
Mercedes-Benz large sedan model that was filled with finesse and luxury for its time, such as double insulated glass windows, sunroof, stereo, AC, automatic, real spare wheel and stereo sound system etc. A funny detail is that when you put the car into reverse and hear a small click, small chrome rods appear in the rear of the rear wings so that the driver can better see where the car stops - this was the solution before parking sensors were introduced.
The car has only had two owners in Sweden, it was brought in from Germany in 1999, so the diesel model was very rare here and the first owners drove it as a summer car until 2007 and then stored. It was then taken out in 2019 and serviced and has been a hobby car for the second owner until now. The car was registered in the car register as a light truck when it was brought in 1999, for a lower annual car tax (around SEK 4,500 per year). This means that it is registered for driving without a rear seat. However, the back seats are in the car and if you remove the cargo grill behind the front seats and make an appointment for the car test, you can register the car back as a passenger car. ( See car inspection price list). The grille is attached without damage to the car, so it will not be visible on the interior if it is dismantled.

Starts easily and runs fine, Serviced in 2019 and then only drove 3000 km. New year-round tyres, on the original wheels.

Whole and clean interior without traces of wear or damage.

Exterior condition
Mostly original paint. There is a minor paint repair under the grill (see picture). A few small scratches on the bumper, see pictures. Nice body and paintwork. Polishing and waxing would enhance the impression even further as the colour shimmers from mocha brown to rose quartz metallic when the sun shines.

General condition
A rare, well-kept car that is enjoyable to drive. It is a rare collector's car because it was the sole diesel model in the S-Class at the time. When driving, you get the impression that you are in a classic luxury car. It is also more economical because it is a diesel.

Facts about the model
The Mercedes-Benz W140 series was Mercedes' flagship model produced between 1991 and 1998. The W140 is sometimes referred to as the "legend" among Mercedes enthusiasts, as many consider it to have the most dominant and perfect Mercedes design, which was drawn by the "design legend" Bruno Sacco. The four-door variant of the model was also standard with double glazing in the doors. The W140 came with the following engines: - 1990-93: 300SE(L), 400SE(L), 500SE(L) and 600SE(L). In the fall of 1992, the 300SE 2.8 and 300SD were introduced. In the fall of 1993, all models were renamed to the S-class - S280, S320 (L), S420 (L), S500 (L) and S600 (L) as well as the S350 Turbodiesel. In the spring of 1994, the S-class underwent a facelift with white front blinkers, changed bumpers and side panels and a modified trunk lid and taillights.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
