Mechanical condition
The engine is not started after its 40-years in hibernation. The car is an S with carburetor and not an SE where E stands for Einspritzung fuel injection. The carburetor version is preferable, in this case when an engine is to be brought to life after a time standing.

Interior condition
Light interior that looks to have coped with the hibernation reasonably well, it will require a full reconditioning and leathers treatment, some mark and stains can found. Otherwise, the leather feels nice and fresh, and the wood panels are complete. “See pictures”

Exterior condition
The paint and chrome was preserved with someone's kind of wax oil. Now everything is washed away and the paint is polished. It has a few small marks and dent to wings and sills and rust spots around the lower front wings and boot lid.

Facts about the model
Fen-Mercorna hade hämtat sin inspiration från amerikanska bilmodet på 50-talet med just stora fenor. Trots att modellen snabbt kändes lite gammal på grund av fenorna tillverkades den ändå ända fram till 1971. Just 220 S modellen med sin härliga 2,2 liters raka sexa var ett åk för direktörer. Men i händerna på Ewy Rosqvist- von Korff blev insprutnings-versionen - 220 SE - även en rallyvinnare. Smått otroligt idag när man ser hur stor bilen är. Mercedes W111 delade design linjer med den fyrcylindriga W110, båda modeller var försedd med panoramarutor vilket gav en stor vy ut igenom bilen. Denna modell var även utrustad med dubbla solex-förgasare. Mellan 1959 och 1968 tillverkades det 161 119 exemplar av Mercedes 220S sedan.

Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
