"With its push button starting and customized interior that is clean and presentable, it is simple to get started. Runs good, although the clutch is a little high and the first gear can bounce out; otherwise it is inspection/MOT exempt and ready to drive away."

Description

The current owner is a VW enthusiast who purchased this car nearly two years ago and has driven it to numerous local car shows during the summer months. The only reason for selling is that another VW project is currently underway and requires the space. The car was purchased in its current condition, and the owner has no idea when it was rebuilt; we're thinking 10-15 years ago. According to the owner, the front axel is a Volvo Valp and the rear is a Chevy. It has an AD 1600cc engine, a normal gearbox, and off-road tires. It's a tremendous eye catcher, and the owner is always swarmed by people snapping photos of it at car shows.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

General service work done under his ownership, as mentioned during the test drive, the clutch is high and occasionally jumps out of first gear, this has to be reviewed. Driving these is always different from driving a regular beetle, but it's also a lot of fun.

  • Interior condition:

Interior customizations include vinyl bucket seats, textile rear seats, a speaker in the parcel shelf, and front side cards with stereo in the glove box. Front and rear of a metal door card Push-button ignition with bespoke switches, as well as an additional console with gauges and a compact sporty steering wheel. It's neat and tidy, with a military vibe.

  • Exterior condition:

It has a very cool military offroad feel to it with its army green paintwork, extremely wide wheel arches, front bull bars with three spotlights, and rear engine frame protector with towbar. Extra custom frame side step and roof rack with army storage box. Isn't the addition of sticker bullet holes a nice touch? The bodywork and paint are in good condition, and the underbody is clean with older welding work that would benefit from being sprayed with under seal. Under the front bonnet is a real axe.

  • General condition:

It's not often that you see a Baja Bug for sale, and this one truly sticks out. It simply needs some minor clutch work to make it simpler to drive, though the owner didn't detect the problem and drove it all summer.
