"A Sonderklasse in the beautiful sun-yellow colour. Furthermore with fine interior in nougat brown. Smart combination. Not tested in certain details as the engine does not start. Read description below."

Description

An MB sold new in Florida, USA. The 4.5-liter V8 engine, which is uncommon for Swedish roads, is installed. According to information obtained, this car model with the 4.5 engine was sold only in the USA. This was to meet competition from powerful American cars. The car was imported to Germany in 2012, where it was used for only approximately two years. The current owner imported the car to Sweden in 2014. The odometer reading at that time is not known because a new instrument cluster was installed at that time. The car has been driven just over 3,000 km since it was imported. A knocking sound was detected at the time of winter storage in autumn 2025. There is uncertainty as to what this could be, but the engine turns over smoothly on the starter motor. The car has otherwise been serviced by the current owner with engine oil, gearbox oil, and rear axle oil.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

As previously mentioned, there is a knocking sound in the engine. According to the owner. Start-up attempts have not been made except that we ran the engine on the starter motor briefly to ensure it rotates. Other technical functions have not been able to be tested, but according to the owner, everything was working in the autumn of '25, including the air conditioning. Brakes and instrument cluster replaced by the current owner. Good quality tyres from 2020 on fine Baroque alloy wheels.

  • Interior condition

Fine interior. Seats reupholstered by the current owner. Fine MB-Tex material on seating surfaces. Fine door panels and headlining. Carpets in good condition. There are some cracks on the wood panels on the dashboard which unfortunately is very common. Rust present in the boot floor. See pictures.

  • Exterior condition

Fine gloss to the sun-yellow paint. There are, however, some bubbles on scattered areas of the bodywork. The car has been repainted in its original color at some point during its lifetime.

  • General condition

a fine overall impression. If you can overlook the engine knock and perhaps can live with the bubbles in the paintwork, you have a nice MB in good condition for use with the largest engine that was available for this model.
