Mechanical condition
Starts easily and runs smoothly in both the engine and drivetrain. Test-driven at a moderate pace in a residential area, everything felt correct in terms of steering, shifting, clutch, and brakes. It hasn’t been inspected on a lift, but what could be seen looked good. No other comments from the vehicle inspection. These models are known for their functionality and reliability, which seems to be the case with this car as well.

Interior condition
The interior is complete and well-preserved in its original condition, showing mild signs of use. A battery cutoff switch is located on the passenger side. The car is equipped with a functioning Pioneer stereo from the era, along with the accompanying instruction manual.

Exterior condition
The original paint is in good condition, with minor scuffs, stone chips, and a small dent or two. All other details, such as wheels, tires (Continental), plastic, rubber, and lighting components, are at the same level of quality. The engine and trunk compartments are in similar condition. The convertible top is tight and in good shape, as is the top cover.

The NA model already has over 30 years behind it and is now a sought-after and interesting classic and enthusiast car. A well-preserved, Swedish-sold vehicle in strict original condition with few owners and low mileage is—and will continue to be—a motor-historically significant car.

Facts about the model
The engine was a 1,596 cc inline-four with 16 valves and 116 hp, paired with a five-speed gearbox. While not a speed demon, it was more than enough in a small, low-slung car. It was not only fun to drive but also a very reliable vehicle, free of oil leaks and with a well-sealed soft top. A functional hardtop was also offered from the start.
Today, the MX-5 is the world’s best-selling sports car, having received numerous awards over the years. The NA generation has already achieved cult and collector status, with 431,506 units produced.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
