"Lovely A-Ford that runs perfectly and is very nice both inside and out."

Description

Erik Nilsson in Alvesta was known as a skilled entrepreneur and a passionate car enthusiast. Over the years, he owned a number of fine cars, with a particular affection for A-Fords in various configurations. He meticulously restored these cars in collaboration with his colleague Jonte Franzén, a skilled mechanic and A-Ford specialist.

Unfortunately, Erik passed away last winter, and his remaining cars are now being sold on behalf of his estate. All the cars were driven very sparingly after restoration and have always been stored in a warm exhibition facility. This particular car joined the collection in 1998, initially in good restored condition. However, after a few years of use, it was disassembled and restored to top condition.

Facts about the model

The Ford Model A was introduced in 1927 and succeeded the Model T. It was Ford’s first car to feature conventional brakes and a clutch, marking Ford’s second major success. By February 1929, two million Model As had been sold, featuring a variety of body styles. Production ended in 1932, making way for the Model B, with nearly five million units built.

Under the hood of the Model A was a four-cylinder, water-cooled inline engine producing 40 horsepower, coupled with a three-speed unsynchronized gearbox.
