Description

This Rover 10 was exported to East Africa in 1936 where it was used up until the 1960s. It was bought there dismantled by the current owner in 1974 and taken to Sweden in 1977 when the owner moved back after completing his foreign service. The seller who started the renovation but did not have time to finish it in 1974 was from the UK and sold it to the current owner instead of taking it home. The rover was flown in 1977 from Africa to London and then shipped to Sweden. The renovation in Africa was started but was not completely finished. After the Rover came to Sweden, it has basically only been stored in different garages as the owner had other projects to take care of.
It is cleared but not registered in Sweden. Lots of documents included. The older photos we show are from the find shipment in East Africa and the transport via Great Britain to Sweden.
This Rover is equipped with a freewheel, opening windscreen, leather upholstery, sunroof, spring steel in the front bumper, spoked wheels and right-hand drive.

Rover was a far-sighted and innovative company that already built its first car in 1904. Before that, they had developed the "modern" safety bicycle as early as 1885, which was essentially different from the previously popular high-wheelers. During the 1908 Olympic Games, Victor Louis Johnson won gold with a Rover racing bicycle. During the Second World War, the company, like many others, was in the production of military equipment, including V12 aircraft engines. After the war, Rover experimented with turbine engines in cars. The new Rover P6, which became the car of the year in 1964, was, among other things, adapted with horizontal coil springs and a very special front carriage to be able to insert a turbine engine. But it never went into production as it was difficult to cope with the heat development. A few years later, in 1967, the famous aluminium V8 was discontinued.

Facts about the model
