The car was purchased new in 1968 by Stig Hjelmquist as Stiga försäljnings-AB's company car. In 1970 the car passed to the next owner who kept it for 26 years. The subsequent owner retained the car for 13 years. In total the car has had 5 owners since new, including Stiga AB, a car dealer and the current owner. The current owner has owned the car for the shortest time, 11 months. He had long been searching for a fine Volvo 144 when he purchased the car in 2025. Unfortunately he must now sell his fine classic car, as he is about to purchase a house.
The car was restored by the previous owner, who in 2022 had it brought to Knack & Lack AB in Vankiva, Hässleholm. The entire car has been repainted, including the engine bay. During the work some unusual but lively colour choices were made. The engine is now painted in the same colour as the bodywork, with black accents. Among other things the valve cover and cooling fan have been painted in a silky matte black shade. Unusual and unorthodox. At the same time new tyres of the brand Nankang were fitted in the size 165/80R15".
The car comes with original warranty documentation, older and newer inspection reports, receipts for repairs and 2 spare keys. A spare wheel and jack are also included.

Equipped with Volvo's durable B18 engine producing 75 bhp and a 3-speed automatic gearbox. According to information, the car underwent comprehensive work in 2022, though we cannot confirm whether this also included a full mechanical overhaul.

Interior condition
The upholstery is in good condition. One seam has come loose on the driver's seat, right at the edge of the backrest. Otherwise, the interior is unusually well-maintained. No youthful modifications have been made, such as installing a modern car stereo or similar. The original car radio from the 1970s sits securely in place here.

Exterior condition
Completely repainted in 2022, including engine and trunk area. Period-correct steel wheels painted in body colour, new tyres fitted at the same time.

Pleasant Swedish vintage car. The model was the bestseller of its time. Neat and tidy, few surviving examples with automatic transmission.
