When the current owner had the opportunity to purchase this MG ZS from an acquaintance, he did not hesitate. He has always had a particular fondness for British cars and this MG felt like a natural addition to his collection. Upon purchase, it was discovered that the rear part of the exhaust system needed to be replaced, which resulted in the car being stored in a dry and well-ventilated garage while the correct parts were sourced. Once a new silencer was fitted, the car was inspected at the MOT station in autumn 2025 and passed without comment. It was then put away again.
The car is a 2004 model year and has had the same owner since October 2020. The odometer reading is currently 125,358 km and the cambelt was replaced in June 2012 at approximately 90,000 km, so it is probably due again.
There are a few known points for improvement to be aware of. The brakes are binding slightly and need attention. The rear bumper needs adjustment, the interior headlining at the rear has come loose and needs to be glued, the headlights would benefit from polishing or replacement and the air conditioning function is uncertain.
For those seeking a British sports estate that is not overly common, with a relatively low mileage, this MG ZS offers a good foundation. Four spare wheels with tyres are included with the car loose.

Not test-driven on the road at the time of photography as the car was registered as off the road. Easy to start and sounds as it should.

Interior condition
The interior is in good and normal condition for a 20-year-old car. Some scuff marks are present and the headliner fabric is sagging, see pictures.

Exterior condition
Chips in the paint. There are a few minor damages such as scratches and small dents, see pictures. In front of the rear wheels, the paint on the sills and fender edges is somewhat "blasted". The front light lenses require polishing or replacement. The windscreen has a number of minor stone chips.

Facts about the model
The MG ZS 180 was manufactured between 2001 and 2005 and is the most performance-oriented version of the MG ZS range. The model is based on the Rover 45, but underwent extensive reworking with a sportier chassis, stiffer suspension, quicker steering and a significantly more aggressive appearance. The result was a car that surprised many motoring journalists with its fine driving characteristics.
The heart of the ZS 180 is a 2.5-litre KV6 engine developing 177 bhp and 240 Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. Acceleration from 0–100 km/h is accomplished in just over seven seconds and top speed is around 225 km/h. The characteristic V6 sound is one of the model's greatest assets and sets it apart from many contemporary turbocharged competitors.
Thanks to its Honda-inspired wheel suspension and MG's extensive chassis development, the ZS 180 became renowned for its precise steering and well-balanced behaviour on winding roads. Several British motoring publications described it as one of the most engaging front-wheel-drive sport saloons in its price bracket.
