Description
In 2021, the Alfa received new brake calipers and discs in the front, and more recently, a new master brake cylinder, new brake hoses, and a lightweight starter motor were installed. The paintwork was done by the previous owner before the current one purchased the car. It is of a garage-level quality, with prep work, welding, and paint finish that could have been done better—see photos for reference.
The car should be viewed as a partially completed project, where much of the previous work—especially concerning the body and paint—will need to be redone to bring it up to a high standard. The bumpers have been removed and are included separately, but mounting hardware is missing.
With its modest valuation, this Alfa has the potential to be an enjoyable winter project for someone with the right mindset and ambition.

Facts about the model
The GT 1600 Junior was part of the Giulia Sprint GT family, first introduced in 1963. The series represented Alfa Romeo’s vision of offering everyday sports cars—vehicles with a racing soul, but equipped with four seats and a usable luggage compartment.
The “Junior” models were introduced as a more affordable alternative to the more powerful GT Veloce versions. Aimed at young drivers, students, and newly employed professionals—hence the name Junior—it was a car that didn’t require great wealth but still delivered true Alfa character.
The body was penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro during his time at Carrozzeria Bertone, and the GT 1600 Junior was a refined evolution of his iconic design. The 1973 model year is especially noted for its “non-scalino” body style, where the small step between the hood and the front fascia—seen on earlier models—was removed to create a cleaner and more modern profile.
