"Collectors of police vehicles, and others as well, have here an opportunity to acquire a police boat with an accompanying trailer that is extremely rare today. According to reports, there are only six boats left out of the 60 purchased by the police authority."

Description

The boat trailer was registered for traffic in September 1970. The owner was the National Police Board, who reportedly allocated it, along with the accompanying boat, to the Mora police district. Copies of information, instructions, maintenance, equipment, and pictures from that time period are available.

The boat's interior is in untouched original condition with signs of use. Some fittings are missing. The bilge pump is functional. The collapsible lighting mast that was in the middle of the deck, as well as various stationary and loose police equipment, are missing. Refer to the equipment list for details.

  • Exterior condition:

The ensemble with the boat and boat trailer appears to be in original condition but shows signs of wear from use.

  • General condition:

A piece of Swedish vehicle and police history. With relatively simple means, one can restore both the boat and the boat trailer and create a delightful enthusiast set to tow behind a police vehicle from the early 1970s.

Facts about the model

Sigurd Isacson was a versatile entrepreneur and designer who was an early pioneer in fiberglass-reinforced leisure boats during the 1950s and 1960s. His operations included Bollnäs, Sweden. In the late 1960s, he began collaborating with Harry Ölander from Finland and manufactured Flipper boats independently under the name Örnbåtar. However, Örnbåtar went bankrupt in 1971. Despite this setback, Sigurd continued his partnership with Flipper and designed the 7-meter-long Flipper 700, which was launched in 1974.

Örnbåtar were procured by the National Police Board during a period when they provided the police with easily manageable boats for law enforcement tasks between 1968 and 1976. About 60 of these boats were sourced from Sigurd Isacson AB. They were distributed across most police districts as a convenient resource to accompany patrol cars. According to reports, only six of these special police boats are known to remain today.

Linköpings Transportindustri AB, founded in 1957, was a company that manufactured trailers. The towing equipment used by Linköpings was produced by the German company Ernst Hahn Fahrzeugbau in Stuttgart.
