"A delightful model that is in excellent condition both inside and outside."

Description

A well-documented and well-maintained Volvo PV60 in a condition suitable for display in a museum, use in film productions (like "Ramona"), or to be enjoyed as it is. The owner's uncle grew up on a farm where there was a 1947 Volvo PV 444, and it had been his dream to own a similar car. After years of searching, he finally found this PV60, and his dream came true. The owner's uncle was a highly skilled and respected car mechanic throughout his professional life, working at Volvo, Bilmetro, and running his own business for the past 28 years. He took excellent care of his vintage cars and owned several vehicles at the time of his passing, but this Volvo held a special place in his heart.

His goal was to restore it to its original working condition and use it for leisure drives, which he fondly called "finåka en sväng," as well as to participate in vintage car meetings with other PV enthusiasts. Various spare parts are included, like the heating system as seen in the pictures. The car comes with a binder containing extensive documentation and an instruction manual.

Facts about the model

The Volvo PV60 was a car model manufactured from 1946 to 1950, replacing the pre-war model PV53-56. The development of the PV60 began in 1939, and it was presented to the public alongside the PV444 in September 1944. However, due to World War II, production could not begin until December 1946. Mechanically, the PV60 leaned on its predecessor but reintroduced individual front suspension, last seen on the PV36 Carioca. Both the interior and exterior of the PV60 were heavily influenced by American design, even down to the steering column gear lever.

However, large American-inspired cars were not particularly popular in the post-war economy, and the PV60 became Volvo's last big six-cylinder passenger car for many years. A total of 3006 units of the PV60 were produced, along with an additional 500 units of the chassis variant PV61.

Interestingly, all produced cars were registered as 1946 models, despite the majority being manufactured in 1949-1950.
