Description
The work was completed in 2018, after which the car passed inspection and was used mainly for local drives and classic car shows. Sadly, he passed away a few years later, and the car was inherited by his wife. Although she enjoys driving it, she feels she no longer has the time or technical knowledge to maintain it as it deserves, so it is now being offered for sale.
The Saab has recently passed its final Swedish road inspection on 2 July 2026, meaning it is now inspection exempt for life and ready for its next enthusiast owner.

Mechanical condition
The Saab starts easily and, like many classic V4s, benefits from a couple of minutes to warm up before driving. The engine runs smoothly with no unusual noises, while the gearbox shifts well, the clutch operates correctly, and the brakes provide confident stopping power.
The engine bay is exceptionally clean and well presented, reflecting the high standard of the restoration. It is fitted with a sports exhaust that gives the V4 engine a deeper, more purposeful sound. Completing the look are three auxiliary spotlights, a good set of original-style steel wheels, and quality tyres, making it ready to be driven and enjoyed. -
Interior condition
interior is clean, tidy and well presented throughout. The original front seats have been replaced with a pair of more supportive modern seats, believed to be from a Volkswagen model, as the originals were badly worn. The rear vinyl seat remains in a good condition.
The headlining, door cards and interior panels are all in good order, while the dashboard is free from cracks or damage. All gauges are in working order, and the car has been upgraded with an additional rev counter and a classic Saab sports steering wheel, giving the cabin a more purposeful feel. -
Exterior condition
Overall, the Saab presents well following its older renovation. During the rebuild, several body panels were replaced, and welding work was carried out to the underbody and around the rear suspension strut mounts in the boot. The bodywork is straight, and the underbody appears solid with no obvious structural concerns.
Paintwork still has a good shine but shows a few blemishes, small imperfections and a couple of paint blisters on the edge of the rear wing. The trims, bumpers and glass are all in a good condition. -
General condition
A great choice for any Saab enthusiast looking for a Saab 96 that can be enjoyed from day one. With no major work required.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
