Vincent Rapide Series C 1000cc — 1951

The Vincent V-twin motorcycle, powered by a legendary 998cc V-Twin engine, was the fastest bike on the road in its time, reaching speeds over 100 mph. Its performance and engineering continue to be revered by enthusiasts today. Fully renovated in the mid-2000s, it remains in top condition.

"The daughter is selling the bike on behalf of her father's estate. It just arrived at our depot and will next undergo a startup service. The bike was last ridden in 2015 and, although everything looks in great condition, the fuel tank will need to be drained, and the fluids, ignition, and carburetor checked before starting. An update will follow later next week."

Description

Full information and history of the bike is a little hard to find, but the family is connecting with the owner's friends. According to the daughter's knowledge, the bike was renovated in the UK by a Vincent specialist around 2005. Her father owned many bikes and spent a lot of money keeping them in top condition. He bought the bike in 1997, and records indicate it was originally a Swedish-sold bike that was re-registered in 1973. More information can be supplied via "Statsarkiv" if the buyer makes a request.

UPDATE: The family has discovered receipts indicating that MAUGHAN & SON LTD carried out the renovation work, which totaled £16,500. The costs break down as follows: Engine £7,651, Cycle Spares £7,342, and an additional £3,600 plus VAT. I have added extra pictures of the invoices. The Vincent Owners Club UK "HRD" has confirmed that F10AB/1/10100, with crankcase mating number B53V and upper frame member number RC/1/8798, is from a Comet, not a Rapide, although they shared the same frames. The startup service has been completed, and while the bike kicks over fine and everything feels right, it is not firing up.
