Description

This car was driven around Säffle until 1985. The following year it was sold to the current owner, the man behind the car museum in Arvika, who collected exclusive and unusual cars. This Rover with its V8 engine is a must in every major car collection, as these cars were among the coolest you could buy from England in the 1970s.
The car is in good, original condition but needs to be cleaned, polished and serviced properly since it’s been stored for 34 years indoors in a dry climate (the engine turns over by hand). A little paint damage and rust is found outside (see pictures). Interior and engine compartment is in a normal condition, beige leather upholstery (with some dry cracks on the top of the rear seat). Facts about the model

V8-versionen av Rover P6. Från början räknade Rover med att det skulle sitta en gasturbinmotor under huven. Så blev det inte. Istället blev det en fyrcylindrig motor med överliggande kamaxel.
Konstruktionen var avancerad med en självbärande Monocoque som klätts med karossplåtar. Framvagnsupphängningen höll också hög teknisk klass med dubbla tvärlänkar och horisontella skruvfjädrar. Även bak var det avancerat värre med en De Dion-axel. Bromsarna bestod i sin tur av skivor runt om.
I början av 1960-talet köpte Rover rättigheterna till Buicks V8 i aluminium som först hamnade i P5. Från 1968 fanns den också tillgänglig i P6.
Första åren såldes den bara med automatlåda men från 1971 fanns den även med manuell. Rover P6 tillverkades mellan 1963 och 1977.

  • During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
  • ATTENTION: Many of these cars are sold without valid Swedish registration documents, as spare parts.
Important to know before placing your bids!
  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
  • If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
  • Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
  • For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
