"It’s in a fantastic original condition, with social historically interesting. The sheet metal bodywork and the wooden frame are in good condition. It would make a great exhibit car as it stands or a good start up service and inspection and drive it without renovation."

Description

This car is from the late 1920s and has been rescued in a car collection in Värmland since the 1950s. The car has been Norwegian registered. Documents are missing. It is culturally interesting as it is an early and well-preserved so-called “russebil”. Russe celebration is a Norwegian student tradition dating back to the 18th century. When high school students are about to finish their education, they celebrate big with decorated cars and buses to ride around in. The highlight is the cortège on the national day on May 17th. The students also have special decorated overalls, hats, whistles, canes and other student accessories. During the year, students raise money to buy cars and buses that they adorn. Today, this tradition has gone a little out of control with large and exclusive vehicle instead. We are guessing that this car has been used around the 1950s, along with the other “russe” cars that are also at the auction. These cars are unique collectibles because they are simply left and preserved unique in this way, when most “Russe” cars are scrapped, when they are used hard as rolling party vehicles. The engine on this car rolls over by hand.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The car is complete and should be relatively easy to get back into a drivable condition.

  • Interior condition:

Complete and nice but also worn and untouched since the 1950s.

  • Exterior condition:

Absolutely wonderful in its original condition that hand-painted “Russe” style from around the 1950s.

  • General condition:

It’s a great car for exhibition as the installation as it stands and can be started again without a complete renovation. Unusual since most were rebuilt in the 1930s into agricultural vehicle’s after their time as a car.

Facts about the model
